Review: Montagne Jeunesse Dry Skin Mask

So today is another little review of one of the masks from the Skin Heroes range that was recently sent to me by the lovely people at Montagne Jeunesse. You may have read (quite a lot) about my ridiculous skin and it's horrible dry patches, so this mask seemed like a great idea! I really can't stress enough how much I love the 2 step process behind these new masks by the way! So, on with the review of the Dry Skin Mask...

So my initial thoughts on the packaging is that I like how it's the same size as the normal masks, but you get 2 different products in it and I believe the same amount of mask. Basically it feels like you're getting more for your money (if that makes sense?) The Dry Skin Mask contains Raspberries, Blueberries and Red Grapes which are all high in antioxidants that are designed to protect and replenish. I will point out that the packaging is very easy to cut in half so you can split the two bits up if you find it easier/don't want to risk accidentally ripping into the second step when opening the mask below (I didn't have a problem at all with this but I know some people might prefer that method.)

Here's a quick shot of the back of the packaging so you can see that it's got the normal instructions on it. Very easy to follow (especially the "relax" part!)

Ah......I love pictures of me with a face mask on. I once tried a chocolate mud mask and it looked like I was being incredibly racist or maybe trying to be the negative of a panda. Either way, it was not a good look for me! Anyway, as you can see the mask is a sort of white colour and this one actually had a tiny bit of a shimmer to it. I'm not sure what the shimmer was for but it made me a tiny bit hesitant to put it on my face. However, in the name of blogging I went for it anyway! You can see that I've put it in my eyebrows, which I know you shouldn't really do, but I have dry patches in my eyebrows at the moment and decided to just go for it anyway! The mask felt cooling on my skin and went on really smoothly. I don't think I'll ever master the skill of putting a face mask on without making some mess though - this time I totally forgot to take my hoody off until the first half of the mask had gone on! Classic.

So this was after about 15 minutes and you can see that the mask has started to dry quite nicely in most ares. I think the bits on my nose were slightly thicker so I left it for another 5 minutes before washing it off. Although the mask was quite dry by this point, it didn't feel tight on my skin at all and I could smile and talk quite easily without feeling like it was cracking at all. (I love how this shows me what I'll look like in 20 years when the wrinkles really start to come in! Haha!) By the way, this mask smelt so delicious that it was a little difficult to stop myself from just having a little taste! Divine!

I'm not really sure what face mask etiquette is but I tend to wash mine off in the shower after. I know you should rinse it off in the sink but I just usually can't be bothered with that! So after my shower I dried my face off and went straight in for the second part of the pack which was a Rehydrating Skin Serum. I've always thought of serums to be something that ladies (and gents) with slightly older skin used as I thought that they would be too intense for my skin.....but again, in the name of blogging I just went for it! You can see from the picture above that you get a lot of product in the sachet. It was certainly enough for my face and I probably could've gotten another days use out of it if I had had somewhere to keep it! The serum also contain blueberries and raspberries and also KiOsmetine which is apparently proven to make skin smother.

Here's a lovely post shower shot for you all! Look at those eyebrows growing out.....sexy huh?! Haha! Ok so when I first put the serum on I was a bit worried. My skin will absorb stuff pretty quickly but this just seemed to sit on my skin. I could really feel it sitting there too if you know what I mean? I may have put a bit too much on so maybe that was it, but I hate wasting any product from in a sachet! I hate waste with make-up products. Anyway, again this smelt really nice and felt incredibly smooth as I put it on.

This is my beautiful (Ha!) face about 2 minutes after the photo above. I could still feel the serum on my face but you can see that the product has absorbed nicely. I would probably wait a few more minutes to put any make-up on but I was pretty pleased with how quickly it absorbed. My skin felt incredible after this had completely absorbed and was SO soft!! My skin is usually quite nice to the touch but oh my god this was soft. I wanted to go round and get people to rub my cheeks just to wow them with the softness (which would've been weird...so I didn't......well....ok ok I got my Mum to rub my cheek. She was very impressed.....then told me that I should consider job hunting some more for a full time job.... Haha!) I had no issues with my dry skin that day either. I did find that my skin felt really soft the next day too but after my shower the next day my cheeks were back to being a bit dry, no where near as bad as usual though.

I was incredibly impressed with this mask and would definitely repurchase to use once a week (ok, maybe once every two weeks. I'm very forgetful!)
